This volume concludes the History of The Lord of the Rings, with the section on The End of the Third Age. The rest of the book consists of The Notion Club Papers (Tolkien's first and only foray into Science Fiction, dealing with the legend of Atlantis and tying closely to the legend of Numenor), published here for the first time. One of the scarcer volumes of The History of Middle-earth, and quite rare in this condition.
